On May 31. 2018 the Physics students traveled to the large scale and real world classroom, Cedar Point.  Students applied the principles learned in class to engaging, complex, modern engineering systems. Estimation and solving basic analytical design problems are emphasized.  They were able to experience the laws of physics in motion, and practice the application of math and science while enjoying amusement park excitement.

On Friday, May 4, Art students in Mrs Rose’s, Mrs Huvaere’s, and Mrs Lasher’s classes’ had the wonderful opportunity to do a mural tour throughout the city of Detroit. Students toured the infamous belt and the amazing murals in the Eastern Market before enjoying the history and lunch at Berts Market. We went to Cobo Hall where we met the famous muralist Hubert Massey. Hubert spent an hour explaining the fresco process of mural painting and showed us his mural in production on a 30ft wall outside the main ballroom. Students had an unforgettable day in Detroit!

RHS EQUESTRIAN CLUB

Any horse crazy students want to show their school spirit?  Rochester High is excited to announce the RHS Equestrian Team!  This is a club for male and female horse enthusiasts to compete against other high schools in fall meets.  Both riders and non-riding horse lovers are welcome.  Riders must be proficient for high school level competition, be willing to participate in meetings and practices, and own/lease/borrow a horse for competitions in September and October.   Non-riding members can be anyone who loves horses, but doesn’t want the pressure of competition.   Fall competitions are against local schools in English, Western, Showmanship, Jumping, Reining, Trail, Barrel Racing, Pole bending, and more.  .  For more details see the Michigan Interscholastic Horsemanship Association web page.  If interested, contact Sandra Morgan at thequeenofmorgan@gmail.com  All are welcome!
