FEDS AT THE WORLD ROBOTICS CHAMPIONSHIP
During their second competition in Howell, through a contentious battle, the FEDS brought home the gold when they won the entire competition with their three alliance partners. Their amazing performance, in the end, won them not only the competition, but also their second Gracious Professionalism award. The FEDS’ triumph was rewarded with their first winner’s blue banner since 2011. With that, they earned enough ranking points to be invited to the Michigan State Championship in Saginaw Valley.
Ecstatic from making it to states, the FEDS took on the statewide competition from April 12-15. Although the team started out the competition losing by thin margins, their robot’s strengths shined through when the 3rd place alliance captain chose them to compete in the final matches on their alliance. Placing 2nd place in their division and ranking 70th in the state, the FEDS earned an invitation to the World Robotics Championship in St. Louis from April 26-29.
On Wednesday, April 26, the FEDS departed to St. Louis, Missouri to compete in one of the two worldwide competitions held (the other one was in Houston, Texas). They competed in the most competitive division, as this division took home the win!
