NO SCHOOL - MONDAY, APRIL 30, 2018
There is no school for students on Monday, April 30, 2018 due to Professional Development.
SPOTLIGHT ON INSTRUCTION
Mr. Guyor teaches Video Productions, Language Arts 9, and Language and Composition 12 at RHS. Last month, three students from his Video Productions class visited University Hills Elementary to create a video about first grade curriculum, giving them an opportunity to do a real video-production.
The three students filmed discussions with the first graders about what they do in class. Afterwards, the Video Productions students did all of the editing for the video themselves. These students participated this project due to their tenure in the class. This is their second year in Video Productions, which means they take on more advanced and professional projects.
The Video Productions students enjoyed talking to the first graders and seeing their creativity. Mr. Guyor was very proud of his students’ hard work and how independently they completed their video production.

ROTARY PLANTS A TREE
Rochester Rotary Interact students participated in Rotary’s International Plant a Tree Initiative this past week. The president-elect of Rotary International challenged every Rotary club to make a difference by planting a tree. Trees remove carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases from the air, which slows global warming. He said “It is my hope that the result of that effort will be far greater than the environmental benefit that those 1.2 million new trees will bring, I believe the greater result will be a Rotary that recognizes our responsibility not only to the people on our planet, but to the planet itself.” RHS Rotary Interact was proud to participate in the global initiative.
