CHINESE STUDENT EXCHANGE 2017
SPOTLIGHT ON INSTRUCTION
Mrs. Rosell's block science completed the Physical science curriculum during first semester. To begin second semester (biology curriculum), students are presented with medical records of unidentified patients who experienced a digestive illness with some dying as a result. It is discovered these patients had all stayed at a local campground for a period of time. Block science students are tasked with determining where the illness is coming from (food, water, animals, etc) and also what could be causing the illness. Currently, students are planning to investigate various water samples from the campground to see if anything suspicious is found. In order to investigate the water samples, students will need to utilize microscopes. To begin, students rotated through various stations to practice with the microscopes before moving on to the water sample investigation.

RHS SPORTS
ATHLETIC SIGNING DAY
Surrounded by family, friends, coaches and administration, 13 Rochester High School student-athletes made their college declaration on National Signing Day. This is the largest group that Mr. Beach has had at one signing, and he was extremely excited to celebrate. “This is my fourth year here at RHS, and this is by far the largest group we’ve had sign at one time”, Mr. Beach said (RHS has two signing days). Mr. Beach expanded saying, “I am so proud of our student-athletes, it takes so much hard work, dedication, discipline, and sacrifice to get to this point. While their peers were out socializing, they were practicing their crafts and focusing on their academics. This is a dream for so many, but only a few will achieve it. I’m like a proud parent cheering on our kids”.
